About Marsella Development

In 1976, Romolo Marsella stepped down as the first director of the Providence Foundation, to establish Urban Consultants, a consulting group that went on to receive national recognition for its catalytic role in the creation and implementation of the Capital Center and Promenade Center projects in Providence, RI, as well as the Gateway Center in Newport, RI. As the number of public/private projects increased, Rom created Marsella Development Corporation in 1979 to focus on private development opportunities around the state. Since then, Marsella Development has pioneered numerous high profile projects, while continuing to be a driving force in urban renewal and place making.

In 2008, Christopher Marsella became President of Marsella Development and continues to lead the development and asset management arms of the company. Chris continues to identify unique investment opportunities while engaging in the community, one that he is tirelessly committed to.
