History
Marsella Development was founded in 1979 by Romolo Marsella following national recognition for his role in shaping landmark public-private projects across Rhode Island, including Providence’s Capital Center and Newport’s Gateway Center. Since its founding, the firm has been a driving force in urban renewal, preservation, and thoughtful place-making.

Community Work
Since 2001, Chris has worked at the conception stage of a wide range of developments and acquisitions, both privately as well as within public private partnerships.
Chris resides in Rhode Island where he is an active member of the community, serving on several nonprofit organizations and public commissions, including the Providence Foundation where he is currently serving as Chair of the Board; the Providence Preservation Society where he is immediate Past President; Trustee of Hope Health & Hospice Care of Rhode Island; Founding Member of the Downtown Providence Parks Network; Trustee of the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau and is Chair of the Downtown Providence Design Review Commission.
